Tax FREE weekend is just right around the corner. Most of the states that are participating in this event will have their Tax FREE weekend starting this Friday, August 3rd.
During the Tax FREE weekend, participating states will not charge sales tax on items such as clothes and school supplies. This makes it an ideal time for back to school shopping. Stores usually offer nice sales to pair with the Tax FREE weekend allowing you to save money on items you have to buy anyway.
If you happen to be a Connecticut resident like myself, or if you are a Maryland resident, you will have an entire week to score deals on certain items without having to pay sales tax. Please visit your state’s website to get more details on this event.

No Sales Tax on: Clothing under $100.00, Books under $30.00, School Supplies under $50.00, Computers and Computer Equipment under $750.00

No Sales Tax on: Clothing and School Supplies under $100.00
Connecticut – 8/19 through 8/25
No Sales Tax on: Clothing and Footwear under $300.00
Florida – 8/3 through 8/5
No Sales Tax on: Clothing under $75.00 and School Supplies under $15.00
Georgia – 8/10 through 8/11
No Sales Tax on: Clothing under $100.00, School Supplies under $20.00 and Computers under $1,000.00
Iowa – 8/3 through 8/4
No Sales Tax on: Clothing under $100.00
Louisiana – 8/3 through 8/4
No Sales Tax on: Any purchase under $2,500.00 (excludes meals, taxable services or automobiles)
Maryland 8/12 through 8/18
No Sales Tax on: Clothing and Footwear under $100.00
